Scavenger hunt!

Vultures

Win-Win Web is hosting a scavenger hunt, in win-win style!

(Get the photo? Because vultures are scavengers? Ha! Hey, if you can't crack yourself up, who can?)

Now that Win-Win Web has its new look, I need some photos to spruce up my postings. That's where you come in! Instead of doing all the photo finding myself, I'm inviting the Win-Win Web community to make a game out of it. Here's how it works: you find the photos, and I'll create posts to go with those photos. No matter how outlandish the image, I'll come up with a win-win message to match it. Put my creativity to the test! That's half the fun!

Just to get you started, in scavenger hunt tradition, here's a list of photos to look for:

  • a funny moment
  • a great achievement
  • a piece of artwork created by an animal
  • an unusual landscape
  • an incomprehensible diagram
  • a team effort
  • a colorful costume
  • a festive gathering
  • a stroke of genius
  • an unsung hero

So much for tradition. The rest of the game is decidedly unconventional, in that there are no wrong answers, the rules are only guidelines, everyone is allowed to play, and everyone can win. You can send photos from the categories above, or you can send in something completely different. You can send in as few or as many photos as you like. You can send in your photos today or next week or next year. There's no deadline on creativity.

You can suggest a topic for the posting that matches your photo, or you can challenge me to create one. You can choose to be credited for your photo in my post, including a link to your own web site if you have one, or you can choose to remain anonymous. You can send photos you find on the web or photos you took yourself, just tell me the source. (If you send me photos taken by a friend, please make sure you have your friend's permission to do so.) You can also get a group together and send in your photos as a team. I promise to credit the whole group for each of its submissions. How's that for a win-win deal?

This is just the first of more games to come, each designed to make Win-Win Web a fun and interactive community. I want to encourage participation, creativity, imagination, and exploration. So if you have suggestions for more games, be sure to send them along. In the meantime, I'll look forward to seeing those photos!

This is a great idea! When you mentioned it, I couldn't quite figure out how this would work but now that I see it, I think it's brilliant. Now I gotta get to huntin' I suppose.

Thanks, Dwayne. I'll look forward to the challenge!

John:

A good search to try on Google Images is 'fantasy'. See what you make of this very unusual picture found with that word:

Unusual indeed! Thanks, John.

(Don't worry, dear readers. I run a family-friendly blog and investigate all comment links. It's a "G" rated picture. The image is merely unusual, as John says.)
