Forgive me if I'm absent from the blog for a few days. My beloved Jake is over one hundred years old in dog years, and his health has taken a turn for the worse this week.
Prayers, heartfelt wishes, "positive energy," and all forms of good intentions are both welcomed and deeply appreciated.
Thank you.

Thinking of you and jake right now emmie.
Jake sounds like a clever doggie so we hope he can stick around for a bit longer. Give him a big hug from me (he may not like it though...I think we still smell like "Cat" here in our house even though our beloved Billy is now three weeks gone).
Warm regards and prayers
mitchums

Thanks, mitchums. Jake does seem to be coming around a bit. He's still pretty wobbly on his feet, but he's getting around a heck of a lot better than he was two nights ago. He's always been a fighter.
But I'm so sorry, again, about Billy. I'm just so, so sorry, mitchums. I don't know what else to say. My heart is with you.

Hey, EM--
I'm new to your group, and was prowling around a bit when I read about Jake. I hope he's mending well, and will send up a prayer for health (for him) and strength (for you).

Hi, Julia. Thank you on both counts, and welcome to the site! Jake's much more himself today. He just finished his dinner and is now lying next to me giving me his best "I'm starving to death here; oh if only someone truly loved me" look.
I can't tell you how good it feels to have my Jake back. He might still be a bit wobbly on his feet, but as long as he's excited about dinner, he's still basically the same dog. :)
